Yeah! I have been a CU fan for a long time but that's not where this is going.
Rather bitch about CU football I am going to critique it.
Yes! Critique.
My reasons are this. I have watched almost 8 or 9 years without a Bowl Game. But to me right now it seems like the Buffs can't win. With a very close loss to a ranked UCLA and unranked USC they were so close. But close only gets you so far. Not to mention there was blatant horrible referees in the game. How do you call a Buff CB for pass interference when the receiver and the corner both have a right to the football. Frustrations upon frustrations for the 4-7 CU BUFFS.
Losing 35-31 to the Bruins caused me to go insane. And I almost went nuclear when the Buffs lost by 3 to the Trojans. The Buffs have a ton of pieces to win games. This year I was proud. I saw CU snap a conference streak. But they let that momentum dictate their next game and the next. Rather than driving forward they are stuck in neutral. 4-7 is a record the Buffs should have changed to 6-5 and bowl eligible.
Critiquing as good as I can I find a lot wrong. CU can't stop running backs in the middle of the field and are getting gashed. Plus Sefo Lifau is now hurt. So it is up to a red shirt Freshman to try and win games. Cade Aspay has to try and beat a WSU Cougar team that will be going bowling. WSU is 7-3 and 5-2 in conference. The Buffs have to be on the brink of an upset and win a game they aren't supposed to win. If the record shows anything it is not indicative of the performance on the field. Sefo has gotten better. Spruce is finding openings as great recievers do. Lindsay is getting better. Derek Carr is getting better. The line looks better and still 4-7. They have to try and contain a gunslinger in QB Luke Falk. And I am not familiar with the Cougar's running back but this is a good Cougar football team. The Buffs have been 3-0 against the Cougars in PAC-12 play but I am worried and for good reason.
CU has lost close games. They have to try and win one . Rather than watch this game as a fan. I am sick of the close games. I will watch from a far and see if they can win one without me. Like my cheering has anything to do with them actually winning. But I digress. I want to see them win a game. And try to build momentum for the next game. CU needs a win desperately. Coach Mac needs a win and the program needs a win. 5-7 looks better than 4-7, doesn't it?
Go Buffs.
